As most 90’s kids, I spent much of my childhood watching the “OG” Disney princess movies – you know, Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid – just to name a few – and they became a huge staple in my life. As a little girl, I remember wishing I was a redhead because I wanted mermaid hair like Ariel or that I had a library like Belle’s in Beauty in the Beast - I just wanted to be like them. As children, you look up to the characters you fall in love with and that’s exactly what I did with these princesses. But the problem with these movies, is that in most of them, the women are always portrayed as weak or as someone who needs a man to come in and rescue them. And I hate that. So I decided to put my own spin on the classic Disney Princess and recreate my own vision of what I think they should be like – so.. introducing “The Princess Project”.
Part 4 - of course, another OG - Cinderella. This one was fun but honestly a little difficult because I didn't want it to appear too "prom like" or costume-y. And we decided to go with a dark blue dress instead of a light blue so I was worried it wouldn't translate. But Andrea killed it with the "be your own damn Fairy Godmother" vibes and I am here for ALL of this! And those heels - who knew Cinderella wore Steve Madden! Not to mention the stunning Make up by Lauryn Fisher I really think it all came together.
